Dr Jayarajan is a general Urological Surgeon whose sub-specialty interests are in the management of male and female incontinence, voiding dysfunction and female urological conditions including pelvic organ prolapse.
She graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2004, and completed her specialist Urological Surgical training in Victoria. She then travelled to leading institutions in Toronto, Cape Town and New York to undertake two years of extensive training. During her year in Toronto, Dr Jayarajan also gained significant experience in performing fluoroscopic urodynamics for evaluating urinary symptoms in both males and females, including those with post-surgical incontinence, and patients with neurological conditions such as spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
Dr Jayarajan is experienced in the latest treatments for:
- Stress and urgency urinary incontinence in males and females
- Female pelvic organ prolapse – including ‘no mesh’, laparoscopic and robotic procedures
- Bladder pain and urgency conditions
- Voiding dysfunction in patients with neurological conditions
- Urethral stricture disease
She believes in utilising medical therapies or minimally invasive treatments for urological conditions where possible. Surgical treatments offered include intravesical Botox, neuromodulation, midurethral and tissue slings for stress urinary incontinence; endoscopic and mesh-free vaginal procedures for female pelvic organ prolapse.
Dr Jayarajan also practices general urology for both males and females evaluating and managing conditions such as kidney stones, benign prostatic enlargement and kidney conditions requiring surgery, using minimally invasive techniques.
