What a first year it has been for the newest Private Hospital in Melbourne’s northern growth corridor, Epping Private Hospital

Since its grand opening one year ago on 30/10/2018, Epping Private Hospital has been a pioneer to the northern region’s health district, welcoming many a patient through its doors across a broad range of specialties, with high quality patient care and excellence in clinical outcomes consistently delivered.

The excellence in patient centred care, synonymous with the Healthe Care brand, commenced right from the moment Epping Private Hospital welcomed its first medical patient, Graeme, on 17/09/2018; “despite the circumstances, the Epping Private Hospital staff made the whole experience pleasant”, tells Graeme. He recalls that after

“having been in a few hospitals over the past couple of years, the staff at Epping Private were excellent and the care - exemplary”.

In describing his entire experience with Epping Private Hospital (including his visit as the first ever patient, through to a recent return visit, he says it has been “fantastic – I couldn’t have asked for better” and that the staff at Epping Private Hospital “looked after me so well - I couldn’t believe how well”. So well in fact, that Graeme continues to refer friends and family to the hospital.

On 03/10/2018, Epping Private Hospital admitted its first surgical patient, Lyndelle, who underwent a knee reconstruction with Orthopaedic Surgeon Ms Anita Boecksteiner. A former cyclist, this was Lyndelle’s second knee reconstruction and in describing her experience at Epping Private Hospital she says “wow – it was absolutely amazing, everyone was super friendly and the food was incredible”.

With surgery that went like clockwork and a knee that reports is now “100% - like it never happened”, Lyndelle explains that the recovery of this knee reconstruction was much faster than the prior knee reconstruction, which she attributes to the modern, less invasive techniques adopted by experienced Epping Private Hospital Orthopaedic Surgeon Ms Anita Boecksteiner. In comparing this procedure to her earlier knee reconstruction at a different hospital Lyndelle recounts that she was “very happy with the care and it was a much better overall experience”.

Lyndelle also recently returned to Epping Private Hospital for a wrist reconstruction with Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Richard Pennington. A highlight of her return visit was being welcomed back to the hospital by all of the staff – from the administration team, to nurses and theatre staff. She found the fact that staff had remembered her to be a “real personal touch” with the familiarity making her feel “very welcome”. Above all, Lyndelle says that the staff at Epping Private Hospital “took the worry away with how friendly and professional they were”. Lyndelle says of her experiences with the hospital that

“you know you’re in good hands - from the second the administration team make contact, and all the way through”.

Now 12 weeks her post her most recent surgery, she describes Mr Pennington’s care as “A-Class” stating that “the care has been incredible and it is coming along very well”. While the team at Epping Private Hospital have enjoyed caring for Lyndelle, here’s hoping she need not visit anytime soon and that her wrist is back to 100% in no time.

Other patients over the first year of the hospital’s operations have frequently likened their experience to that of a hotel with statements like

5 star accommodation. You would think it’s a motel. Rooms are big and very quiet, easy to get a good sleep. Nurses are fantastic, caring and dedicated. Can’t do enough for you, always asking if you need anything. Very modern facilities. Thumbs up from me 👍”.

These statements from patients tell the story;

Such a fantastic new hospital. Everyone who I had contact with from admission to discharge were fabulous. Especially my night nurse Karen. The food was delicious. I could not have been looked after any better. Thanking everyone so much for their exceptional care. I highly recommend Epping Private, it will from now on be my hospital of choice”.

Epping Private Hospital is excited about its second year, set to expand its services welcoming a Day Medical Unit for oncology and haematology services in early 2020, and is set for future expansion with Intensive Care Unit (ICU), additional patient beds and theatres to be added to service the needs of the growing northern community.

Epping Private Hospital says THANK YOU to all that have supported our first year of operations!
